Arthur Williams Optical was founded in 1914 by Arthur Williams Sr., a Saint Paul based optician who felt that the people of the Twin Cities should have more choice when it came to eyeglasses.  The original location was on St. Peter Street in downtown St. Paul. The business steadily grew, and their customers appreciated their commitment to offering the best quality eyeglasses at the best possible prices.

In 1981 the business was purchased by Dan and Deb Olson and still operate today under the Arthur Williams name.  They were committed to keep the legacy of a locally family owned business.

In 2000, the downtown store relocated to the great  Highland Park neighborhood in St. Paul.
